I want to extend a sincere “THANK YOU” to
all Lions and friends who came out on September 18th to work the
District 29-L Lions’ Dan Dague Memorial Car & Bike Show for Sight (Part
II). After a rain out on Labor Day, we had a beautiful day on the 18th
and the show participants showed up in droves. All of the chairpersons
had their areas squared away and every thing went well.
The new traffic pattern worked very smoothly. Some minor tweaking and it
will be even better. Registration went off without a hitch. However,
next year the tent needs staked down. Judging was completed on time and
awards were presented in record time. Our refreshment stand kept
everyone well fed all day long. The 50/50 teams were out and about
selling tickets, and had two very nice winning pots. The Auction and
Chinese Auction had a nice selection of items and was well run. Our
parking lot crew did a great job getting the cars parked.
These were all the highly visible committees at work, but behind the
scenes the ecology clean-up crew busily kept things cleaned up in record
time, the banking crew kept all the properly allocated monies and
counted all the loot. A special THANKS to the group of Lions who took
over the logistics of getting tables and chairs, gators for ecology and
traffic cones to the site, and putting them in the proper place … then
getting them back to their respective locations. Thank you also to the
Lions and friends responsible for promoting the car show through the
media and in the distribution of flyers.
All in all, this was a great car show that went smoothly due to the
diligence and attention to detail of all those involved. Thank you again
for a job well done and thank you from those whom your efforts will help
in the future.
Thanks for all you do!
