To Lead Is To Serve
How to Delegate: The 3 L’s
By Shar McBee
The next time you are required to delegate, remember this: Delegate with
delight. People aren’t looking for ways to give up their time, but they
are looking for ways to enrich their lives.
Keep your warmest memories in mind when asking someone to help you.
Offer an opportunity to do something great. Make it sound great.
Empower, entrust and use the 3 L’s to delegate with delight.
Look for Good People
Listen to Them
Let Them Shine.
As your club is selecting its slate of officers for 2012-2013, remember
that it is good to rotate your officers. This process will help
eliminate officers becoming burned out.
It’s also good for incoming presidents to talk with their members to
determine whether or not they want to continue serving on committees.
This demonstrates that you are wanting to include them in your planning
process for the coming year.
